Update (10/05):
——–
A client of mine was asking me why all his category pages are ranking on the first page for their targeted keywords except one. After a quick look, I soon discovered two issues on that given category page.
- Poor landing page design (poor UI design, lack of functionality and low quality content)
- Lack of popularity (lack of social signal as well as relevant backlinks)
My solution is easy. Redesign the landing page with better user interface. Rewrite existing content and extend the article length by actually offering value to visitors (tips, how-to and why buying from us info). Build links via how-to videos hosted on Youtube with transcriptions later published on the site. Self-promote each video tutorial through company’s existing social channels. Due to its experimental natural, we are also trying to keep the total spend under $500 USD with 10 weeks turnaround.
